Our Group

We may be small but we are very dedicated to our work. We currently own three RDA horses and have the use of two more during our sessions, thanks to thier generous owners.

We currently run two sessions per week (Saturday and Wednesdays) with up to 15 participants per session. None of this would be possible without our amazing team of volunteers who donate thier time to us every week.

We have three fully qualified coaches who will coach each session with the help of trainee coaches, team leaders and volunteers.

We are the only Riding for the Disabled Group in Midlothian

Although our mission is to serve the people of Midlothian, we do take in participants and volunteers from across Edinburgh City and the Lothians.

We are completley run by volunteers

Our group has no paid staff, so every job from every day horse care to session coaching, from accounts to participant coordination is done by a dedicated team of volunteers.

Not all of our participants ride!

We run many different styles of sessions, including work on the ground with and without horses. Such sessions are geared towards supporting mental health for everyone from young carers to families and individuals living with dementia.
