A Very Merry Christmas

Screen Shot 2011-12-23 at 20.41.42

Glad to see the hay getting delivered again for Red and myself.

Red is turning into a wee pest. He keeps pulling at my coat and damn near had it over my head. Now he is tugging at the other end. We have the evidence as it was all caught on video camera.  Got my new shoes on today, all nice and shiny.  Had a wee chortle when Duncan, the farmer built a stage for Misty and Mary. Still waiting on

Favourite Words
Will somebody feed that wee toe-rag

Favourite Thing That Flies
The wasp that stung Ace’s bits…. it was such a giggle I’m told.

Favourite Thing to Do When Nervous
Guess what…. you’re right! And in the parade square if possible. He He!

Favourite Reason for Laughter
Drive through mounting block. I stop just short of the rider then just when the rider is getting ready I move off and I have to go round again.

Favourite Smell
Princess Misty’s Botty Coughs…. she says she doesn’t do that

Ace’s Blogging…

Hi everybody Ace here Some major developments on Hill 60. That electric fence has finally gone. Now i can really get a good feed.

I also have a new companion as Benny has moved in with Her next door. I have Red to look after instead, although i can still see what little Benny gets up to. Don’t think i haven’t noticed him sidling up to Mary when Sally stopped looking down at him.

Being up on top of the hill

Group raises nearly £2000

sterling_symbol_grey_rotating_sm_wht

The group has had a very successful outing to Sainsbury’s in Loanhead to ‘bag pack’ last weekend. Riders, their parents and families and many volunteers worked in shifts to help shoppers pack their bags in return for some loose change. Alongside the money that was thrown in our buckets we also had some Euros (obviously somebody predicting a downturn in the eurozone), a bridle and a button. We also attracted five new volunteers for the group who will be made

There’s been changes around here….

ace593v2

All my hard work has paid off now that Jeff has been elected as chairman of RDA. I knew I could make something of him. I am a bit surprised how quickly he learnt the ropes and got to the top slot. I hope he doesn’t get too busy and remembers to have some time for riding with me. Maybe I can score some extra food rations too.

I see that Annie has been pensioned off. Ain’t she the lucky one.

Now son, let me tell you how it goes…

I know that you are new to this RDA thing but let me just give you a few ground rules to start you off.

Don’t be eyeing up the girlies in the next field cos they are quite a handful.
Big Sall is….well, big and you don’t want to go upsetting her.
Don’t speak to Princess Misty unless she speaks to you. She’s royalty!
Whatever you do, don’t mention her frizzy hair.
Avoid wee Mary at both ends…. sideways, she’s a doll!
Be on best of

I pretend to be an old pensioner on RDA days and struggle up the lane to the parade square. Poor old Ace, here he comes again…. let’s just use him for a couple of rides today!  There’s tablets, extra carrots and powdery stuff all to keep me more supple and able to carry the riders. But really, I don’t feel that bad at all. Since that wee boy Benny appeared and started making eyes at big Sall in the next

Our New Chairman, Jeff

jeff and ace - walkies2

I am Jeff Allan, I am currently retired after 30 years service with the British Transport Police. I was a constable on the ‘front line’ for all my service. I have various interests including horses, music, reading and travel.

I have been aware of the RDA for many years through my wife, Alison, who has looked after Annie but only became involved in the winter of 2010/11.

I quickly went from poo picker to Aces assistant, whom I have become friends with
